- How did you set up the equipment properly? Camera & Tripod set up etc. (stills useful if possible)
When setting up the equipment we made sure that we safely secured the camera by using a tripod of the handgrip. We never took the grip off and just attached it to the tripod. We used a boom microphone to help capture Dialogue and wild-tracks.

The equipment we used was the following:
  • NTG2 Boom Microphone
  • TASCAM DR-40 Digital Audio Recorder
  • Sony FDR-AX53 Digital Video Camera
  • Zoom H1n Digital Audio Recorder
  • Neewer Shoulder Rig
  • Amazon Basics 60-Inch Lightweight Tripod with a bag
  • Zeadio Handle Grip
Before leaving for shooting we went and grabbed our equipment. After making sure we had everything we set off for our filming locations. We went for the furthest location first which was the alleyway in which Upwood sees Hugo.

On arrival to a location, we set the camera up with the correct white balance and exposure, we then secured the camera on its grip and tripod, ready to film. When we finished filming we packed up everything and made sure it was safe and secure.

After recording, we organised the footage and audio files and distributed them to our computers. We planned a secondary reshoot date but never needed it. After that, I personally renamed all the files in order to the days we recorded.
- Did you follow the script/storyboard? Were there any shots you had to change, if so why? how, yes/no

We followed the script when filming as much as we could. We made sure this happened by carrying around two paper copies of the script and then a digital version. On our reshoot day, we improvised a script and it turned out great. We planned what was going to happen but let Louis run with whatever he felt went well.
- Did you follow safe working practices? How? Link to Risk Assessment

We followed our risk assessments completely and never strayed. We took care of the equipment and always kept an eye on it. We highlighted any tripping hazards and everything that wasn't needed was tucked away in a safe and convenient spot.
- How did you follow your production process, was there any change in dates, equipment etc.?

We were behind with what our Teacher expected with dates but swiftly caught up. We mostly used our own equipment and booked out our equipment in advance. We always returned our equipment on time and I had to push the group to get the paperwork done.
- How did you know the equipment: sound and camera were working correctly - what process did you go through?

Just before filming we went and checked all the equipment was working and safely secured. We didn't have any issues other than having to learn how to use the boom microphone kit. Everything worked just as we planned and we were successful at getting everything recorded and distributed.

HERE is our best of footage.
